Lemon Sauce for Salmon Patties

A slightly spicy lemon sauce for salmon cakes. Makes enough for about eight salmon patties.

How to Make It

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour to form a smooth paste. Gradually stir in milk; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook for 2 minutes or until thickened.

  2. Remove the pan from heat; stir in lemon juice, salt, and cayenne pepper.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 4 teaspoons all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
