Sweet and Tropical Pineapple Smoothie

Smoothies are a delicious way to start the day. Plus, they're quick and easy to make in a blender and perfectly portable. Sweet banana and tart pineapple are the main ingredients of this tropical smoothie. Add coconut milk as the liquid to mimic the flavors of a piña colada.

How to Make It

  1. Peel, core, and cut the fresh pineapple. Make sure to chop the pineapple into smaller chunks before adding it to the blender.
  2. Choose a banana that is ripe, but not browning. Break it up into about 4 pieces.
  3. Place the ice, pineapple chunks, banana pieces, and limeade in a high powered blender that can handle crushing frozen ingredients.
  4. Pulse and crush until it is completely blended and very smooth. If it is too thick, slowly add more limeade or juice until it's at your desired consistency.
  5. Pour the smoothie into tall glasses and garnish with sliced pineapple.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups ice
  • 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple
  • 1 large banana
  • 1/3 cup limeade
  • Sliced pineapple, for garnish
